Book Drops
Book drops are available outside all of the Libraries when they are
closed. Cassettes, CDs, DVDs & videos CANNOT be returned in a
bookdrop. Returning materials promptly makes them available to others
sooner.
Borrowing Materials
A library card is needed to borrow materials. Most materials are loaned
for three weeks. Videos and "Books Pronto" are loaned for one week, and new fiction is loaned for two weeks. Most items may be renewed, except for Books Pronto.
Copy Machines
Copy Machines are available at all branches. The fee is .15 cents per copy.
Grants Information Center
The Grants Information Center, located in the Riverfront Branch, is one
of more than 400 Cooperating Collections of the Foundation Center. It has the
best and most comprehensive information available on foundations and

Access is available at all branches of the Yonkers Public Library.

City of Yonkers and the Westchester Library System. With your library
card’s barcode number, you have remote access at home to extensive
reference databases which provide full-/text articles from hundreds of
magazines, and abstracts from many more publications. eRreference
provides e-mail reference service.
Kurzweil Reading Machine
The Kurzweil Reading Machine at the Riverfront Branch scans printed
materials and reads them aloud, a service for those who are blind or
have low vision.

Tours can be arranged for individuals or groups to learn about library

Our librarians are information specialists with Master's degrees in
Library and Information Sciences. They are here to help you with your
information and book selection needs. If you do not find what you are
looking for, we may be able to get it from another branch or another
library. You may also reserve books already checked out. Ask a

grades 1-7 during afterschool hours at the Riverfront and Will
