New Hours
Due to reductions in the
library’s budget brought about by the city’s budget crisis, the Yonkers Public
Library is making the following schedule changes:
Beginning Saturday, July 3,
all branches of the Library will be closed on Saturdays until further
notice.
Beginning Tuesday, July 6,
the Library will be following a new weekday schedule which will remain
in effect until further notice. The new
hours will be:
The Grinton I. Will Branch: Mon., Tues.,Wed: 10AM – 8PM
Thurs., Fri.: 10AM – 5PM
The Riverfront Library Branch: Mon., Wed., Thurs: 10AM – 8PM
Tues., Fri.: 10AM – 5PM
The Crestwood Branch: Mon., Wed., Fri: 10AM – 5PM Tues: 1PM – 5PM
Thurs.: 1PM – 8PM
The Riverfront Library
Branch will be hosting activities as part of two previously scheduled events in
September: Yonkers Riverfest on
September 11 and the Mexican Independence Bicentennial program on
September 18.
Any restoration of Saturday
hours will depend upon changes in the level of funding from the City as the
fiscal year unfolds. The Library Board,
administration, and staff regret that these service cuts have become necessary
and hope that the budgetary situation will improve so that full library service
can be restored in the not too distant future.
