Coming of Age

Coming of age is a young person’s transition from childhood to adulthood. This transitional period varies between cultures, societies and religions. Some cultures and religions have official events to commemorate this milestone which usually involve both family and community, such as; Bar/Bat Mitzvah, Confirmation,Quinceanera and Sweet Sixteen.  The coming of age milestone is an important one, and can also be a difficult time for most young people, as well as their parents.
