Curated by Haifa Bint-Kadi and co-curated by Fares Rizk, the exhibit is open for viewing Monday-Thursday from 10:00 AM-7:00 PM and Friday-Saturday from 12:00 PM-5:00 PM. The exhibit will be open through Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Notably, it is our first gallery show since reopening.
From New York to Amman: The Lifeworks of Fares Rizk is a collection of vibrant and dynamic paintings depicting the life and times of Palestinian American artist Fares Rizk, who is also the highly celebrated drag queen Sultana. Fares has spent his life studying the works of Picasso and Matisse and it shows in his expressive use of color and stylized designs in his infamous and intimate portraits of the people he encounters in his daily life. Fares’ works capture the spiritual, poetic, and quiet moments in time and leave you wanting to know more of the story.
Please note that mask wearing and social distancing will be strictly enforced in both the Riverfront Art Gallery and the Riverfront Library as a whole. For more information, please review our reopening Code of Conduct.
