The process of getting organized is ongoing. If it all seems overwhelming, fear not! A group meets once a month to tackle the practical challenges.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, August 12 at 7:30 PM via ZOOM. The topic is Organizing FOOD – your kitchen, pantry shelving, pots and pans organization, spices, lunch bags, water bottles and more!
Last month, the Get Organized topic was Travel Organization. Here are some best practices:
Always carry a lock and key. If you go somewhere, you can secure your personal items in a locker.
Put everything back in the same place, or pack an item in the same piece of luggage so it is easier to locate.
Mini Zip lock bags are helpful.
Use little plastic envelopes and paper organizers.
Always carry a portable battery pack and an extra cell phone charger.
Keep a lockbox in a suitcase.
Use a waterproof plastic sleeve for your cell phone.
Use RFID covers for protection.
Foldable portable fans are a lifesaver.
Take souvenir mementos from nature e.g., beach sea shells or sand.
Carry stamps and pre-printed labels with addresses for postcards.
Mail items to your destination ahead of time.
Mail back souvenirs or things you bought on vacation.
Use Travelzoo or a travel agent to book your vacation.
Check individual airline websites as well as the budget sites.
