The Library of Things is a collection of non-traditional library items – “Things” – you can check out with your library card, just like a book!  

 

BIRD BACKPACK

• Kits can be checked out at the Circulation Desk.
• Kits include binoculars, backpack, and book on local birds
• Checkout period is three weeks.
• One kit per library card.
• Kits must be returned in person to the Circulation desk.  Please do not put them in the dropbox.

 

 

BLOOD PRESSURE CUFFS

• Kits can be checked out at the Circulation Desk.
• Checkout period is three weeks.
• One kit per library card.
• Kits must be returned in person to the Circulation desk.  Please do not put them in the dropbox.

 

LAWN GAMES

• Outdoor equipment is available to borrow at the Grinton I. Will Circulation desk.  
• Choose from: Croquet, Lawn Bowling, Giant Dice, or Kubb.
• Checkout period is three weeks.
• One game per library card.
  • Games must be returned in person to the circulation desk and not the book drop. 

 

 

MUSEUM PASSES

• Museum passes may be borrowed by Yonkers Public Library cardholders only. 
• In most cases, these passes must be returned two days after check-out. For example: if you request to pick up a pass on Tuesday, it will be due back on Thursday.

SEED LIBRARY

• A collection of seeds of flowers, vegetables and herbs are available for “check out”
• Patrons may take up to 4 packets per household.
• If you wish, return seeds from next harvest for others to plant.

TELESCOPES

• Telescopes can be checked out at the Circulation Desk.
• Kit includes Telescope, carrying case, and moon map & observer’s guide
• Checkout period is two weeks.
• One kit per library card.
• Kits must be returned in person to the Riverfront Circulation desk. Please do not put them in the dropbox.

 

 

UKULELE KITS

• Kits can be checked out at the Riverfront Circulation desk.
• Kits include ukulele, carrying case, electronic tuner, and spare strings. 
• Checkout period is three weeks.
• One kit per library card.
• Kits must be returned in person to the Riverfront Circulation desk.  Please do not put them in the dropbox.
