Below are some winter tips and a recipe that Jackie has shared with us.

Eco-Conscious Tips for the Winter

  1. Turn down the thermostat and wear layers.
  2. Use caution when de-icing. Not all salts are safe for pets and the environment.
  3. Switch to energy efficient light bulbs
  4. Don’t leave your car running for too long.
  5. Shovel before the snow turns to ice so that you use less salt.
  6. Close up drafty spaces. Try plexiglass to place against windows to greatly reduce drafts while maintaining a view to the outside.
  7. Winterize pipes.
  8. Use heavier curtains on your windows to keep warmer at night.
