During these challenging times, NY State of Health, New York’s official health plan marketplace, remains committed to ensuring access to affordable, quality health insurance for all New Yorkers. We are dedicated to helping you and your community to get the coverage you need, so you can get the care you need.
If your job or income has changed, NY State of Health is here for you. If you recently became unemployed, have lost your health coverage, or are currently uninsured, you can apply now for coverage through NY State of Health. You may be eligible for free or low-cost coverage through Medicaid, the Essential Plan or Child Health Plus. Individuals who lose job-based health insurance should apply within 60 days of losing that coverage.
Enrollment in Medicaid, Child Health Plus and the Essential Plan is open all year. You can enroll in a Qualified Health Plan during the annual Open Enrollment Period, or a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) if you are eligible. NY State of Health has opened a SEP during the COVID-19 public health emergency through August 15, 2020.
