New Year’s Resolution #3: Go Back to School!

If one of your 2021 resolutions is to expand your skill set, pursue a new career, or simply try a new hobby, consider enrolling in a FREE Gale Course. All you need is your Yonkers Public Library card barcode, pin number and an email address to enroll.

Gale Courses cover an impressive range of topics, with classes offered in technology, business, language, science, test prep and the arts. These courses are accessible from home and are asynchronous; there is no specific time when the class meets so you can fit the weekly lessons into your schedule! Furthermore, while the courses are self paced, there is an instructor available to answer any questions via the Discussion Area.

Each course is six weeks long, and students will spend about 2-4 hours a week on coursework. You can enroll in a course up to 13 days after the start date, provided you complete the first two lessons in that time frame. Students can enroll in as many classes as they like!

Especially notable are the in-depth courses in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.). These classes accommodate three skill levels; beginner, intermediate and advanced for each application and version of the software from 2010-2019. This ensures there is a course that will work with the version of Microsoft software that is available to you.
