Tails and Tales: Summer Reading Program 2021

This year the Yonkers Public Library is hosting the Tails and Tales: Summer Reading Program, which runs until September 3. Children, Teens, and Adults can read and log their books for raffle entries to win prizes. The program is FREE with your Yonkers Public Library (YPL) barcode.

The Summer Reading Program is online only. To register go to the READSquared platform or download the READSquared app on your mobile device. After registering you, can pick up a FREE tote bag at any of the three YPL branch locations.

For assistance getting started with a READSquared account or downloading the app, please read the registration instructions. You can also view the registration instruction video:

The Summer Reading Program runs for ten weeks, with a different theme, tale (recommended book), and related library event(s) for each week. We will also be providing Grab and Go craft bags at any of the three library branches (Riverfront, Will, and Crestwood).

To see a complete list of themes, tales, and Grab and Go craft bags, go to the Summer Reading page and scroll down to Summer 2021 Reading Tails of the Week. To see a list of events (online and in person), go to the Summer Reading Programs page.

This year, YPL librarians collaborated with librarians at the Yonkers Public Schools to develop new lists for summer reading from Kindergarten through Grade 12. To see those lists, go to the Summer Reading page and scroll down (the lists are just below the Reading Tails of the Week).

Have a great summer and happy reading!
