It’s that time of year again, and the Yonkers Public Library  would like to make your holiday shopping a little easier.  We all know Amazon and many of the larger retailers and we have included the links below but we want this year to be fabulous.  Let’s face it, we’ve earned it!  In this spirit, our staff has pulled together a list of our favorite shops with everything from books to gourmet foods to unique trinkets.  Let’s get started!

*Highlight:  Owned by author Louise Erdrich

*Highlight: Carries rare and classic literature by Black authors.  Also sells records and great tee shirts.

*Highlights:  Most amazing selection of children’s books. They also specialize in rare, first editions.

*Highlights:  Specializes in female authors.

Northshire Bookstore – Manchester, VT.

*Highlight: A charming village bookshop that offers a personal shopping experience!

 Ferry Building Marketplace – San Francisco, CA. 
*Highlight:  Famous Ferry Building that offers local Northern CA food and goods.

Brooklyn Tea – Brooklyn, NY
*Highlight:  They have a tea “sommelier” if you go in person but you can buy beautiful gift boxes online.  Amazing tea!

Sol Cacao – Bronx, NY.
*Highlight:  Get fancy chocolate right here in the Bronx!

Blue Hill Market – Tarrytown, NY.
*Highlight: Ridiculous prices but beautiful gifts ranging from food to kitchenware and ceramics.

Rancho Gordo – Napa, CA — hot sauce, heirloom beans – great place for the people in your circle who love to cook and want to know exactly where the product is coming from.

*Highlight: Delicious toffee sold by the pound!  Makes a great gift!

*Highlight:  Gourmet/International foods, with very fast shipped.

*Highlight:   Carry an amazing selection of delicious goods grouped by country, cuisine or occasion.

Silver Tips Tea – Elmsford, NY

Highlight: They are awesome, fairly priced, and LOCAL.  (They had a now-defunct restaurant/tea room in Tarrytown that was loved and many may likely remember.)

Rochambeau – Dobbs Ferry, NY 
*Highlight:  One of the best liquor stores with unique collections of wine/spirits. The owner is incredible and loves to give tastings (if you go in person) and can provide great recommendations for under $20

Liber & Co – 
*Highlight:  Amazing simple syrups for cocktails and mocktails. Bonus: recipes online!

Zachy’s Wine and Liquor – Scarsdale, NY
*Highlight:  If you order by 3 PM, there is same day delivery in Westchester.
