Will Library reopened at 9am on Tuesday, April 21

Will Library closed due to an issue with defective electrical equipment. That equipment has since been replaced, passed City of Yonkers electrical inspection, and power has been restored by Con Edison. 

YPL thanks the Mayor's Office, the Department of Engineering, the Department of Buildings and Yonkers Fire Department for their help in resolving this issue. We also thank our patrons for their patience and understanding.

Opening Reception for Breathe in the Sky, a solo exhibit featuring the photography of
Hasna Muhammad, the daughter of renowned civil rights activists and actors, Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis.

Her parents' activism provides an important context for Muhammad's work that spans over many years, capturing intimate memories with family, alongside monumental historical events. Muhammad was taught that dreaming was insufficient and that it was her duty, alongside her family, to take action if she truly wanted to invoke and see change.
