Will Library reopens at 9am on Tuesday, April 21

Will Library closed due to an issue with defective electrical equipment. That equipment has since been replaced, passed City of Yonkers electrical inspection, and power has been restored by Con Edison. 

YPL thanks the Mayor's Office, the Department of Engineering, the Department of Buildings and Yonkers Fire Department for their help in resolving this issue. We also thank our patrons for their patience and understanding.

Event Details

This lecture is about an Irish boxing exhibition that James J. Houlihan curated. Irish boxers featured in this exhibit included John L. Sullivan, 'Gentleman' Jim Corbett, James 'Cinderella Man' Braddock, Gene Tunney, Jack Dempsey, Billy Conn, 'Irish' Micky Ward, and even Muhammad Ali who had Irish ancestry. Items displayed included prints, photographs, paintings, robes, gloves, boxing bags, and films. This exhibition was displayed at the Irish Arts Center in NYC and South Seaport Museum in 2006 and 2007.
