Will Library reopened at 9am on Tuesday, April 21

Will Library closed due to an issue with defective electrical equipment. That equipment has since been replaced, passed City of Yonkers electrical inspection, and power has been restored by Con Edison. 

YPL thanks the Mayor's Office, the Department of Engineering, the Department of Buildings and Yonkers Fire Department for their help in resolving this issue. We also thank our patrons for their patience and understanding.

Event Details

 Hemsley Winfield is considered to be the first African American modern dancer. Hemsley was born in Yonkers in 1907. He was featured in several plays including E. E. Cummings’ Him and Oscar Wilde’s Salome.
