YPL Presents: An Otter's Tale With Author Katherine Applegate

Odder spends her days off the California coast, practicing underwater acrobatics and spinning quirky stories for friends and family. But when she comes face-to-face with a hungry great white shark, Odder's life takes a dramatic turn.

Applegate’s poignant, humorous Odder is inspired by the true story of a Monterey Bay Aquarium program that pairs orphaned otter pups with surrogate mothers.

The YPL Presents: Virtual Author series is funded and supported by the Foundation for the Yonkers Public Library.

Katherine Applegate is the Newbery Medal-winning author of numerous books for young readers, including The One and Only Ivan, Wishtree, and the Animorphs series.  She lives with her husband, who writes as the author Michael Grant, and their children in California.
