Stones of the New Town: A Walk Through Enlightenment
Step into the refined elegance of 18th-century Edinburgh as we explore the Georgian New Town, a triumph of Enlightenment-era planning designed to expand the overcrowded medieval Old Town. Built from the 1760s onward, the New Town showcased a new vision for urban living—with wide streets, grand neoclassical architecture, and orderly symmetry—symbolizing the city’s transformation into a modern, intellectual capital.
Explore sights like Calton Hill, Firth of Forth, St Andrew Square, George Street, Price Street Gardens, and the Scott Monument. And of course, the Edinburgh Castle!
