David Mills will do a poetry reading from his latest work Unhired Hands. This work tells the story of enslaved people in the American colonies. Readers are introduced to three enslaved women (Victoria Earle Matthews, Martha Peterson and Millie Tunnell) who are buried in cemeteries in Queens, New York. He also writes about slavery in Massachusetts slavery because it was the first North American colony to legally enslave Africans.
