Will Library reopens at 9am on Tuesday, April 21

Will Library closed due to an issue with defective electrical equipment. That equipment has since been replaced, passed City of Yonkers electrical inspection, and power has been restored by Con Edison. 

YPL thanks the Mayor's Office, the Department of Engineering, the Department of Buildings and Yonkers Fire Department for their help in resolving this issue. We also thank our patrons for their patience and understanding.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop, author Jerome Enders and Executive Branch Entertainment Group (EBEG) will be discussing his book: Yonkers: The Lost City of Hip Hop. Join us for this program that will discuss the historical and musical traditions of Yonkers Hip Hop, known throughout the world.

Special guest: Lakeesha Rice.  Lakeesha Rice was born in Yonkers and is a nine-time winner of the Apollo Theater amateur night and was signed by Mariah Carey at the age of fourteen. She has released Billboard charted singles and made an appearance on the famous Soul Train show.
