Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month at YPL

Every year, communities across the United States observe Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15 by celebrating the contributions, traditions, cultures and history of individuals with roots from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. While YPL presents programs and events year round celebrating our diverse community, Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to pay tribute to the long and vibrant history of Hispanic and Latino Americans' influence and contributions to our great city.

YPL’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month will involve a series of events, including cultural programs, an art exhibit at our Riverfront Art Gallery, music performances, art workshops and much more.  Each library will also offer books displays showcasing Hispanic, Caribbean and Latin American authors for adults, teens, and kids. Below is a sample of event offerings. View our Hispanic Heritage Month Calendar for a full event listing.
