Melvin Goldstein Photograph Collection

Melvin Goldstein was a medic with the United States Army from Army from 1946 to 1947. During his service, he was stationed in the Philippines. While he was there, he photographed World War Two battlefields in Corregidor and Manila. A few of the famous places that he visited where Fort Drum, Malinta Hill, and Mile-Long Barracks. These bases served as headquarters to the United States Army before they were captured by the Japanese in 1942. There was intense fighting at all three locations when they were recaptured by the United States in 1945.
