Podcast Review: Diss and Tell: Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher

Diss and Tell is a podcast about celebrity feuds. The hosts are Sydney Battle and Matt Bellassai. One of their episodes is about Liam and Noel Gallagher, brothers who are the two frontmen for Oasis that are currently on a reunion tour. In the episode, you learn about the rivalry between the brothers and why they split up. The hosts provide amusing commentary as they describe the chaotic feud.

The episode begins with a description of an Oasis gig at the Whisky A Go Go in 1994. A soundbite of their music is played and it sounds like garbled noise. It turns out the band was high on crystal meth and they were all playing different songs. At the end of the show, the hosts describe Liam tapping Noel on the head with a tambourine and making a quick exit for the stage. You find out that this on stage fight was nothing out of the ordinary for Oasis.

The hosts talk about how the Gallagher brothers have fought since they were teenagers. An incident that infamously stands out was when Liam, then fifteen, was intoxicated and urinated on Noel’s newly purchased sound equipment. Noel was understandably furious. In an interview, Liam said this where their feud began.

There were times when the fights got ugly even for the Gallaghers. While arguing at a recording studio, Noel cracked Liam over the head with a cricket bat. Another time, Liam taunted Noel that one of his daughters was not his. This resulted in a fist fight and Liam ended up with a split lip.

The rivalry between Liam and Noel continued despite the enormous success of Oasis. At a concert at Knebworth, England in 1996, 250,000 people came to see them. The band finally broke up in 2009 after Liam destroyed one of Noel’s guitars.

Beginning in July of 2025, Oasis reunited and have been touring globally. Bellassai and Battle were not sure whether their reunion would happen but everything has gone smoothly for Liam and Noel so far.

Diss and Tell is an entertaining podcast and covers culturally relevant topics. The hosts have good senses of humor and they incorporate it into their story telling about the celebrities they are discussing. Those who are fans of Oasis will especially enjoy this podcast episode.
