Envision Your New Year: Vision Boards and Financial Literacy with Aureo Pinto Jr.

On Saturday, December 20th, patrons of the Yonkers Crestwood Library joined Aureo Pinto Jr to create vision boards meant to help with mindfulness and financial literacy. Vision boards are a way to sustain motivation for your goals, as having a tangible representation keeps them clear in your mind. As our attendees curated their boards, Aureo answered any questions about financial planning, taxes, and investments they had.

Check out these comments from participants in the program:

  • Natalie love the workshop because of the “conversational [tone] and loves getting one-on-one advice.”
  • Suzanne loved the workshop because of “the community, enjoyed developing her financial literacy skills. The manifesting my goals and the questions asked at the beginning got me thinking.”
  • Zoe found the workshop “fun and enjoyed putting the images and boards together."
  • Nancy found it helpful bc it “forced me to think further ahead than just tomorrow. Writing down my goals help solidify them.”
  • Angela enjoyed the “knowledge the workshop provided about vision boards, finances, and just everything about it.”

Your 2026 Vision Board

A vision board is more than a collage of images—it’s a powerful tool for clarity, intention, and alignment. Gently step into the future and imagine what life feels like when you’re living in flow, purpose, and fulfillment.

As you create your board, let these reflective prompts guide you. There are no right or wrong answers—only what feels true to you.

Take a moment to imagine yourself in 2026. Not rushed. Not stressed. Just present.

  • “In 2026, a good day starts with…” What does your morning look and feel like? Calm? Energized? Creative?
  • “In 2026, I spend more time…” Who or what fills your days? Learning, resting, creating, connecting?
  • “In 2026, I’ve learned how to…” What skills, boundaries, or inner strengths have you developed?

Let your answers lead you to images, words, and symbols that resonate emotionally—not logically.

Give your vision board a word, phrase, or sentence that captures the essence of your 2026 vision, such as Aligned & Abundant.

Anchor Your Board With Affirmations

Select one to three affirmations that reflect how you want to feel and who you are becoming. Examples include:

  • I am aligned and thriving.
  • I trust myself and my timing.
  • I create a life that feels good to live.

Affirmations help translate images into embodied belief.

As you create your board pay attention to:

  • Repeating themes (freedom, rest, travel, creativity, connection, nature)
  • Dominant emotions (peace, joy, confidence, excitement)
  • Colors you’re drawn to (soft neutrals, bold brights, earthy tones)

These patterns often reveal what your inner self is asking for most.

Participants may choose to share:

  • One image or word they feel especially drawn to
  • One intention they’re committing to carry forward

Listening to others often sparks new insights without comparison.

In closing, reflect together:

“How does this board make you feel right now?”

Grounding into the present emotion is just as important as envisioning the future.

Bring Your Vision Into Daily Life

A vision board works best when it’s seen and felt regularly. As next steps:

  • Place your board somewhere visible—your bedroom, workspace, phone’s wallpaper  or journal
  • Spend time each day simply looking at it. No analyzing. Just noticing.

Consistency turns intention into momentum. Thank You for Showing Up for Yourself. Thank yourself for taking this time to pause, reflect, and dream intentionally. Creating a vision is an act of self-trust and self-respect.

Close with this affirmation: “I honor my vision, trust the process, and move forward with clarity and confidence.”
