Donations to YPL: Books, DVDs, Other Materials

Box of books

Yonkers Public Library gratefully accepts donations. Please note that the Riverfront and Will branches have different donation policies and procedures.

Riverfront accepts paperback and hardcover books (with dust jackets)—fiction, nonfiction, sci-fi/fantasy/horror, biographies, cookbooks, self-help, etc.—as well as audiobooks and DVDs in very good to excellent condition.

  • We do not accept reference books (dictionaries, encyclopedias, textbooks, etc.), CDs, cassette tapes, VHS tapes, or vinyl records. Please limit your generosity to two (2) reasonably sized boxes or bags per visit.
  • Donations of children's books should be brought to Riverfront's 2nd floor; all other donations can be dropped off on the 3rd floor.

Will accepts paperback and hardcover books (with dust jackets), audiobooks, vinyl records, CDs, and DVDs. Please limit in-person donations of materials inside the library to 25 items. Larger donations can be left in the blue donation bins in the library parking lot.

Call Riverfront (914-375-7940) or Will (914-771-9616) for more information.
