Program Description

STEM/Technology

STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, and math. These four fields share an emphasis on innovation, problem-solving, and critical thinking. 

Event Details

Register separately for each weekly topic. Students attend all 4 sessions during the week. No prior skills required for workshops.

Week 1: Learn to code with Scratch Learn to use coding blocks to control characters, objects, and  backdrops. 

Week 2: Ampify (Digital Music Maker) Arrange sound bytes into sections to create your very own songs that can be exported to mp3 files. 

Week 3: pixlr E (Digital Drawing) Use drawing tools to create a comic strip to tell a short story. 

Week 4: PiskelApp (Animation) Learn how to bring characters to life in the form of a digital flip book. 

Week 5: Minecraft City Building: Students work collaboratively in creative mode in a shared world where each student contributes to designing a city.

Week 6: Digital Media with AI: Combine the artistry of traditional design with the power of artificial intelligence; Learn how AI tools can enhance the design process.

Week 7: Scratch 2 Whether or not you attended Scratch 1 learn to code using blocks or build off of the skills we learned in week 1 in order to create a multi level platforming game.
