STEM/Technology

STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, and math. These four fields share an emphasis on innovation, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Register separately for each weekly topic. Students attend all 4 sessions during the week. No prior skills required for workshops.

Scratch 1 & 2

In this engaging coding program, students will explore the different block categories in Scratch and learn how to sequence them to control how characters, objects, and backdrops interact. Depending on the group, students may create short games or animations each day, or work on one multi-level project throughout the week.

If this is a second session with returning students from Scratch 1, we’ll build on the skills learned in week one to create more advanced projects, such as a multi-level platformer game. If it’s a new group, we’ll follow a similar structure to week one, focusing on daily coding challenges.
