Summer Reading - Log and Review Books

On June 1, the Yonkers Public Library will launch its Summer Reading program, where you can log the books you’ve read and write reviews to win prizes. This program is open to all ages. To register, go to https://yonkerspl.beanstack.org

After finishing a book, you may want to read other opinions and find books with similar stories or topics. There are many websites available that will not only allow you to log and track what you read but also include reader reviews and lists of related books. Below are some free websites that provide these services.

Goodreads logo

Goodreads (www.goodreads.com

A popular social cataloging website with reviews and user-generated book lists. Create an account or sign in with Facebook, Amazon, or your Apple ID to log your books and interact with other readers.

LibraryThing logo

LibraryThing (www.librarything.com)

Similar to Goodreads, this site allows you to log books, movies and music, with item information pulled from the Library of Congress and over 4,000 other libraries as well as Amazon.com.

Storygraph logo

The StoryGraph (https://app.thestorygraph.com/)

An Amazon-free alternative where readers can use half-stars in their book ratings, submit content warnings, track pages read (and minutes heard for audiobooks), and access graphs and charts for genres, star ratings, and even mood and pace. Unlike Goodreads, there is less of a social media focus.

Litsy logo

Litsy (https://www.litsy.com/web/home)

Inspired by Instagram, this site (also an app) encourages users to upload photos e.g., book covers and post short reviews or comments about current reads.

Libib logo

  Libib (https://www.libib.com/)

A website and an app where you can organize, tag and track your personal library by scanning the book ISBN or UPC. The basic plan is free.
